How Close is Mike Trout to Other MLB Greats?

In terms of WAR, Trout is sure to keep climbing the leaderboards and could very well surpass some of the greatest names in the history of the sportβ€”not that he isn’t already one of them.

The superstar is still under contract with the Angels for four more seasons after 2026, and could make a dent in the leaderboards if he continues to average 8.6 bWAR per 162 games. Assuming Trout plays all four of those seasons in their entirety and reaches 8.6 bWAR this season, Trout will find himself ranked 14th all-time in terms of bWAR by the end of his contract.

What Else Has Mike Trout Achieved in 2026?

Earlier in the season, Trout surpassed the late Garret Anderson for the Angels’ franchise lead in extra-base hits. He currently has 808 in his MLB career. While not in 2026, Trout also hit the 400 career home runs mark during the tail end of 2025.

Trout also has 1,049 career RBIs, meaning he cleared the 1,000 RBIs mark last season with his 64 over the course of 130 games.

He has already established himself as the greatest Angel ever, and is well on his way to Cooperstown whenever he decides to hang up the cleats.
