Sports' biggest night is almost here.

The ESPYs will honor the champions, game-changers, and unforgettable moments from the past year.

This year, Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie will receive the Stuart Scott ENSPIRE Award for his longtime work supporting autism awareness.

The Eagles Autism Foundation and the Lurie Autism Institute have contributed more than $100 million for research and clinical care programs

The ESPYs air Wednesday at 8 p.m. on 6abc.

The summer of fun in South Philadelphia continues this week with events surrounding the MLB All-Star Game.

Phillies fans were out in full force as Citizens Bank Park played host to the 2026 Home Run Derby on Monday night.

The last time Philadelphia hosted the All-Star Game was in 1996 at Veterans Stadium. Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber were just three years old. On Monday, both All-Stars had the opportunity to participate in the Home Run Derby.

Samantha Donnelly, of Churchville, was one of the many Phillies fans who got to the ballpark early.

"This is my first Home Run Derby game, so I'm excited to see Kyle, Bryce Harper, hopefully hit some home runs. I wanna see Philadelphia get the W."

Hours before the Derby started, the Bank was packed with people heading to the pro shop and hanging out in Ashburn Alley.

Action News spoke with Juan Namnun as he made his way through the crowd.

"I mean this is like Route 76 at 5:30 on a Wednesday night," Namnun said.

But Namnun said he was thrilled to be in the bumper-to-bumper traffic.

"This is heaven. This is baseball heaven tonight."

Just above him, Sue Tamny and her family sat in the bleachers gearing up for the night ahead of them. Tamny called this a bucket list experience.

"I don't know why, but I've always loved the All-Star Game," she explained. "So when it was coming to Philadelphia, I said I wanna go! I don't know how, but I gotta go."

This week, Philadelphia will host its first All-Star Game in thirty years, and a local artist got to cement himself as part of its history.

Andre Chaney created the All-Star themed Liberty Bell, which can now be seen at the ballpark.

In collaboration with "Bells Across PA," it is one of many fiberglass statues placed in the region to celebrate America's 250th anniversary.

The project was in partnership with Mural Arts Philadelphia and is titled "America's Summer Tradition."

Five Phillies legends were painted onto the piece, all who participated in previous All-Star games: "Dick Allen, Mike Schmidt, Ryan Howard, Jimmy Rollins, and Bryce Harper."

"This is All-Star Week here in Philadelphia, which is incredible because we haven't had this since 1996, and I get to be a part of it," said Andre Chaney.

"One of the things my mom taught me is that it's not what you do for people, but it's how you make them feel. I think that I'm able to see that by the way people are responding to the bell, just us championing around each other in the sport of baseball," he continued.

Five Make-A-Wish children visiting Philadelphia for the MLB All-Star Game were treated to a private shopping experience and an unexpected visit from former Phillies star Jimmy Rollins on Saturday.

Fanatics hosted the event at the new Mitchell & Ness flagship store in Center City as part of the children's All-Star Game wishes. Each child received $250 to shop for MLB All-Star merchandise, and Rollins helped them pick out gear during his surprise appearance.

The families will also receive premier access to major All-Star Weekend events provided by MLB, including the MLB Draft, Home Run Derby, batting practice, celebrity meet-and-greets and Tuesday's All-Star Game.

Make-A-Wish, which grants experiences to children with critical illnesses, said the weekend aimed to build emotional and physical strength through meaningful moments.

Fanatics worked with Make-A-Wish America, Make-A-Wish Philadelphia, Delaware & Susquehanna Valley and MLB to deliver joy and memorable experiences for the families.

Two-time World Series champion Shane Victorino volunteered at the Shane Victorino Nicetown Boys & Girls Club in Philadelphia Saturday morning.

Major League Baseball, Phillies Charities, Inc. and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia teamed up to refurbish the Shane Victorino Nicetown Club as part of MLB Together's yearlong volunteer initiative.

About 100 volunteers spent the morning painting and deep cleaning learning and social spaces inside the club, while others worked outside on seeding, planting and landscaping improvements. The effort was supported by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society and additional special guests.

The project contributed to MLB Together's goal of reaching 250,000 collective volunteer hours by the end of 2026 in honor of America's 250th anniversary.

According to MLB, the initiative is part of a broader investment of more than $5.5 million in community projects across the region aimed at expanding youth access to baseball and softball, supporting veterans and providing educational and nutritional resources.
