‘Inside the NBA’ brutally roasts Cavaliers during embarrassing Knicks sweep

The NBA Playoffs have officially wrapped up the Eastern Conference Finals. The New York Knicks stormed into Cleveland and completed a dominant sweep of the Cavaliers to punch their ticket to the NBA Finals. Knicks fans celebrated across the streets and on social media as the franchise moved one step closer to a championship.

Inside the NBA also made sure to celebrate the Knicks while sending off the Cavaliers’ season in classic fashion. Throughout the postseason, the show has continued its popular “Gone Fishing” segments for eliminated teams.

Previous editions featured memorable moments, such as the Dianna Russini-Mike Vrabel saga during a Boston Celtics segment.

On Monday night, the show spotlighted two major stars who attended Game 3 of the Knicks-Cavaliers series in Cleveland: pop superstar Taylor Swift and NFL All-Pro Travis Kelce. Inside the NBA featured the pair in Cleveland’s “Gone Fishing” segment following the Cavaliers’ elimination.

The result was far from what Ohio native Kelce hoped to see. The Knicks’ sweep sent Cleveland “fishing” on Lake Erie. Kelce and Swift generated major headlines during their Game 3 appearance as the celebrity couple continues to draw attention ahead of their reported July wedding date.

Kelce also showed off his off-the-field skills with an impressive beer chug courtside in front of the energized Cleveland crowd. Unfortunately for Cavaliers fans, that moment was one of the few highlights of the series as Cleveland failed to extend the matchup on its home floor. In fact, they doubled down in a post highlighted by Adam Schefter:

Finally, in an epic schoolhouse-style lesson, Inside the NBA delivered a definition that perfectly summed up the Cavaliers’ performance.

To cap it all off, the show defined “Quit” as “To give up.” It was then followed with the synonym, “See Cavaliers in Game 4 vs Knicks,” and verb pronunciation “Ca-va-li-ers.” The brutal jab not only educated fans but also roasted the Cavaliers for their epic collapse.

The Cavaliers appeared destined for a breakthrough season after reaching their first Eastern Conference Finals without LeBron James since 1992. Instead, the Knicks carved out a story of their own.

New York didn’t just win the series — it dominated. The Knicks crushed the Cavaliers 130-93 in Cleveland to complete the sweep. With the Western Conference Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder tied 2-2, New York now gains valuable extra rest before the NBA Finals begin.

The Knicks now have an opportunity to capture their first NBA championship since 1973. As for the Cavaliers, the offseason begins with difficult questions about how to finally push past the Eastern Conference elite next season.
