Samsung has literally surprised me today; the company is kicking off the One UI 8.5 rollout to the world’s best-selling Android phone. Interestingly, it’s not a flagship smartphone, nor a mid-range phone, so what is it?

Apple iPhones hold the crown of being the best-selling phones around the world, but Samsung dominates the chart when it comes to Android. In Q1 2026, Galaxy A07 4G was the 4th top seller and naturally the 1st Android.

Galaxy A07 5G grabs One UI 8.5

Samsung is rolling out the One UI 8.5 update to the Galaxy A07 5G, an upgraded variant of the Galaxy A07 with modern connectivity. The firmware should soon be coming to non-5G models, unlocking a better experience.

The major update has landed in Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam, carrying build version BZE3, as spotted by Mohammed Khatri.

This release follows the previous rollout of Android 16-based One UI 8.0. As compared to the original version, the new mid-cycle release has notable improvements aimed at everyday usage.

Steps to check for latest OTA are as follows:

• Open Settings, followed by Software update page
