Galaxy Watch 9 detailed renders reveal design, colors ahead of launch

24 June 2026 at 09:39

Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 9 series is already generating some excitement, and fresh leaked renders give us a pretty clear idea of what to expect ahead of its likely summer launch.

The images, which popped up yesterday, come from reliable tipster OnLeaks and were shared by Android Headlines. Overall, the design sticks close to the winning formula of recent models. It keeps that signature “squircle” shape, basically a rounded square that still feels nicely circular on the wrist.

On the back, the BioActive Sensor array looks mostly unchanged, which is fine since it already handles solid health tracking like ECG, blood pressure (where supported), body composition analysis, and detailed sleep monitoring.

You’ll have two size options again: a smaller 40mm version and a larger 44mm one. Color-wise, the 40mm is shown in Cream and Graphite (one render has a slight greenish vibe), while the 44mm comes in Silver and Graphite. Sporty silicone bands round out the practical, premium look Samsung has nailed lately.

The real headline here is under the hood. Samsung is finally moving away from its in-house Exynos chips to Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon Wear Elite platform, a 3nm chipset with a dedicated NPU for on-device AI. This should reduce power consumption, bring smarter gesture recognition, more personalized health insights, and snappier performance.

Everything lines up with expectations for a July 2026 Unpacked event, where the Watch 9 will probably launch alongside new foldables and maybe the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.

While we still don’t have full details on display specs, or pricing, the early leaks suggest Samsung’s approach this year: keep the comfortable, proven design and pour the innovation into software and AI features that actually make a difference for users.

It looks like a polished evolution rather than a major redesign. More concrete info should start rolling in over the next few weeks.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 keeps the familiar design, changes what’s inside

23 June 2026 at 21:31

We have had our early unofficial looks at Samsung’s upcoming foldables, but the smartwatches remained a mystery. Credible tipster Onleaks changed that today by revealing the Galaxy Watch 9 design through CAD renders.

Samsung is expected to unveil two Wear OS watches next month. The second-generation Galaxy Watch Ultra is coming alongside the Watch 9. The next Galaxy Unpacked event is expected to be held on July 22 in London.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 keeps the familiar design

Galaxy Watch 9 renders reveal a familiar design and shape. Samsung is retaining the design that already works rather than making changes. The Watch 9 keeps its squircle design approach, featuring a circular screen.

Samsung’s squircle design decision makes the smartwatch durable. The display is protected by a uniquely crafted frame that looks classy yet elegant. Watch 8 was a major overhaul over the Watch 7, but Watch 9 is a refined version.

Galaxy Watch 9 will be available in two sizes, 40mm and 44mm. AndroidHeadlines reconfirms the recently leaked colorways, which promised Cream and/or Graphite for smaller ones and Silver and/or Graphite for larger ones.

As per a leak by tipster Galaxy Techie, Samsung appears to be retaining the overall design language of the original Galaxy Watch Ultra. The leaked sketches show a familiar squircle-shaped chassis instead of a traditional circular case, suggesting the company is sticking with the look introduced last year.

While the overall appearance remains largely unchanged, a few refinements are said to be on the way. The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 could feature slimmer bezels around the display, potentially allowing for a more immersive viewing experience. The side button area is also expected to receive adjustments, while the signature orange Quick Button may adopt a subtler design with an orange outline instead of being fully coloured.

The renders currently circulating online appear to be software illustrations rather than actual photographs of the smartwatch. As a result, some design elements could differ from the final retail version that Samsung eventually unveils.

The same leak also sheds light on Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Watch 9. Unlike previous generations, the standard model is tipped to feature a boxier design. Samsung is reportedly skipping a Classic variant this year, leaving the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 as the main smartwatch offerings.

The Galaxy Watch 9 is expected to arrive in beige, black and silver colour options paired with new band designs. Both watches could ship with updated watch faces and new features as part of One UI 9 Watch, which is based on Wear OS 7.

Battery details have also emerged, with the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 rumoured to include an 800mAh battery, while the Galaxy Watch 9 may feature a 400mAh cell. Samsung is expected to unveil the new wearables alongside its next foldable smartphones at a Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for July 22 in London.

What are your thoughts on the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2’s leaked design? Do the slimmer bezels and refined buttons sound like meaningful upgrades to you?
