Samsung’s Q1 top seller isn’t Galaxy S26 Ultra, it’s not even 5G
Global smartphone buyers are now choosing affordable and practical Galaxy phones more than expensive flagship devices. Samsung’s best-selling smartphone in the first quarter of 2026 was not its expensive flagship phone but a mid-range Galaxy A series 4G phone.
According to a report by Counterpoint Research, the company’s top-selling device was actually the affordable Samsung Galaxy A07 4G in Q1 2026. Even, the phone does not even support 5G connectivity.
This report shows that many smartphone buyers around the world now prefer budget-friendly devices over premium flagship models like the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. The Galaxy A07 4G became popular because it offers basic features at a low price.

The Galaxy A07 4G sold strongly in Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East, where affordable smartphones continue to see high demand. Many users in these markets care more about price and battery life than premium features or 5G connectivity.
Other Samsung Galaxy A series also performed strongly overall. Devices including the Samsung Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A36 became some of the world’s best-selling Android smartphones. Samsung has improved these phones by offering better cameras, AI-powered features, and up to six years of software and security updates. Also, the Galaxy S25 is in the list.
In addition to Samsung, other smartphone brands also remained popular globally. Apple continued leading premium smartphone sales with the iPhone 17 series, while Xiaomi entered the global top-10 list with the affordable Redmi A5.
The report clearly shows that affordable smartphones are now leading global smartphone sales as more buyers focus on value and reliability instead of expensive flagship features.
