Gmail AI Inbox makes email tasks easier with one-click actions

21 May 2026 at 00:11

Gmail is getting a big upgrade with new AI features that will make emails easier to manage. Google is expanding its new system, β€œAI Inbox” which helps users handle their emails in a smarter and faster way.

Earlier, this feature was only available to a small group of users who paid for the highest plan. Now, Google is making it available to more people, including users on AI Pro and AI Plus plans in the US.

The main idea of AI Inbox is simple – instead of forcing you to read every email one by one, it shows a short summary of important messages at the top of your inbox. It also shows to-do tasks, like replying to an email, checking a file, or updating your calendar.

With the new update, users will be able to take action directly from these to-do items. This saves time and reduces the need to open many emails. Also, AI Inbox can now write reply suggestions using information from multiple emails in the same conversation. This makes replies more complete and useful.

Users can also mark full email conversations as read or remove suggestions they don’t want to see. Google says the AI only uses information from Gmail and connected apps that work with email. It does not directly read other tools like Google Docs or Calendar unless shared through email.

Google is also working on a new feature – Gmail Live. This will let users talk to their inbox using AI, like a chat assistant. It can summarize emails and help write replies without typing. Stay tuned for more information.
