Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano: How to watch Friday's 2 weigh-ins, official and ceremonial

Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano will tackle their final hurdles Friday ahead of their Netflix superfight at the weigh-ins for this weekend’s big card.

When both Rousey, 39, and Carano, 44, step on the scale, a combined 26 years will have passed since either legend last weighed in for an MMA fight.

There are two different weigh-ins scheduled for Friday: official weigh-ins in the morning and ceremonial weigh-ins in the evening. This post will help explain what to expect from the scenes in Greater Los Angeles.

How will official weigh-ins work?

Official weigh-ins begin at 12 p.m. ET and stretch for potentially two hours. During that time, all 22 fighters on Saturday’s Rousey vs. Carano card will be expected to weigh in.

The headliners for the event, Rousey and Carano, are required to hit the non-title limit for their featherweight bout, which in this case is 146 pounds. If either fighter comes in above that weight, they will be allotted an additional hour to cut the extra weight and weigh-in again. Failure to meet the 146-pound mark again will result in fines and potential additional penalties, depending on the circumstances and severity of the weight miss.

After a fighter has met their target mark at official weigh-ins in the morning, they are permitted to rehydrate and regain as much weight as possible until fight night.

How will ceremonial weigh-ins work?

Ceremonial weigh-ins begin at 9 p.m. ET and are effectively weigh-ins in name only.

With the fighters having already hit their targets weights, ceremonial weigh-ins are mostly a platform for opponents to share one final faceoff and set the stage for fight night in front of a potentially packed crowd at the Intuit Dome Outdoor Plaza in Inglewood, California.

Rousey, Carano and others on the card may also make their final pre-fight remarks here.

How can you watch weigh-ins?

Uncrowned will have live coverage of official weigh-ins starting at 11:30 a.m. ET, including every fighter’s weight and video clips of Rousey, Carano and the card’s other big MMA stars hitting the scales, such as Nate Diaz, former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou and Mike Perry.

Uncrowned will then stream live on-site video of ceremonial weigh-ins at 9 p.m. ET.

This post will be updated with links to both weigh-ins as Friday’s action commences.
