Rochelle Football Player Dylan Manning out of Intensive Care

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — Things are looking up for Rochelle senior football standout Dylan Manning. According to a social media post by the football team, Manning is now out of intensive care at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood near Chicago.
The report also states that Manning “is able to walk with assistance and working on his appetite now that the feeding tube it out.”
Manning, a running back and defensive back, suffered a severe head injury during the Hubs game at Ottawa on October 3. He was immediately taken to Loyola for medical attention. He underwent multiple procedures to relieve swelling in his brain.
Manning had rushed for 829 yards and 11 touchdowns this season prior to the injury. Since the injury, Rochelle fans and folks from surrounding areas have done all they can to show their support for Manning and his family through prayers and by making signs and T-shirts encouraging them.
Rochelle’s football season ended last weekend when the Hubs lost a playoff game at Geneseo.
