Nothing is bringing its new Android 16 OS based custom skin update to more smartphone models. The company had recently halted its Nothing OS 4.0 roll out due to critical bugs, but the update release is in full swing once again. This time around, the brand’s budget subsidiary phones, the CMF Phone 2 Pro and CMF Phone 1, are receiving this update. So here are all the details.

Nothing OS 4 is finally here for CMF Phone 2 Pro & CMF Phone 1

Back in November 2025, the Nothing OS 4.0 stable build was released on the Nothing Phone (2), Phone (2a), and Phone (2a) Plus. Now, the company is expanding the supported list for the major software upgrade with the CMF Phone 2 Pro, CMF Phone 1, and Nothing Phone (3a) Lite.

In an official post on the Nothing Community forum, the Nothing OS 4.0 release was confirmed for these devices, bringing refreshed visuals, new customization options, and a more refined user interface. With the new update, Nothing aims to improve the core user experience while upgrading the overall features and functionality. The Nothing OS 4.0 custom skin is currently rolling out to the CMF Phone 1 today (26th December 2025), with the update rolling out in a staggered manner.

Meanwhile, the CMF Phone 2 Pro is receiving the update in the coming weeks, as a part of the next roll out phase. The company has further added that the Nothing OS 4.0 release timeline might vary between the regions. So it’s not uniform across the globe. So you can head to settings and manually check if you’ve received this update.
