EXCLUSIVE: Daytona Legend Hurley Haywood Speeds His Florida Home Onto the Market for $5.2 Million

Former race car driverHurley Haywood is offloading his sprawling Florida mansion for $5.2 million, more than a decade after he retired to the Sunshine State property.

The five-time 24 Hours of Daytona winner, 77, listed his St. Augustine dwelling Feb. 1, having purchased the picturesque home for $725,000 in 2012, Realtor.com® can exclusively reveal.

The three-bedroom, four-and-a-half bathroom property spans 4,180 square feet and—perhaps unsurprisingly—comes complete with a sizable three-car garage.

Haywood's home, which is listed with Jane Chefan and Jessica ChefanHansen with One Sotheby’s International Realty, was designed for "everyday comfort and elegant entertaining," according to its description.

"Located within one of St. Augustine’s most desirable waterfront enclaves and designed by renowned Cronk Duch Architects, the home offers refined coastal living within walking distance of historic downtown St. Augustine," a press release shared with Realtor.com reveals.

Before entering the property, guests are greeted with a coastal facade emphasized by blue and white paneling.

Upon walking in, guests are wowed by the white walls adorned in art, the soaring ceilings, and the elegant wooden staircase.

The listing notes that the home "offers refined coastal living with uncompromising quality, privacy, and craftsmanship throughout."

Adjacent to the foyer is the living area, which features a cozy fireplace, dark wooden floors, and black French doors that allow natural light to flood inside.

The kitchen is certainly one of the most lavish areas of the home.

Haywood began his professional driving career in 1969.

By 1973, he picked up his first 24 Hours of Daytona win, followed by four other wins at the event in 1975, 1977, 1979, and 1991.

In 1977, Haywood won the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The race car driver also won the 12 Hours of Sebring in 1973 and 1981. In 1980, he finished 18th in the Indianapolis 500.

He retired in 2012 and is now the honorary chief driving instructor at the Porsche Track Experience.
