The acquisition of NUVIA for $1.4 billion could have ended horribly for Qualcomm, but the San Diego firm can now find itself on almost an equal footing with Appleβs A-series and M-series of chipsets with the purchase. With the involvement of Gerard Williams III, who founded NUVIA, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5Β with its third-generation Oryon cores became possible, and Qualcomm is just getting started.
