One UI 8 leaves Galaxy Watch 5 Pro users confused by sudden battery drops

7 February 2026 at 00:35

Some Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro users are noticing a strange battery issue after updating their smartwatch to One UI 8. The issue is not that the battery is draining quickly, but that the battery percentage shown on the screen is not accurate.

Many users say that after charging their watch to 100% and putting it on their wrist, the battery level suddenly drops to around 75% within just a few minutes. This looks strange at first, but most users report that the watch continues to work normally for hours afterward. This suggests the battery itself is fine, and the problem is with the battery indicator.

Several reports about this issue have appeared on Reddit. According to users, the issue started right after installing the One UI 8 update.

Not every Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is affected. Some users say their watch works perfectly after the update. However, for those who are facing this issue, it can be very annoying because they can no longer trust the battery percentage.

Unfortunately, there is no easy fix right now. Users have tried restarting the watch, doing a factory reset, clearing cache, and recalibrating the battery. None of these steps have fixed the problem.

Some users have shared that the battery display improves slightly after a few days of regular use. Still, most say the percentage never becomes fully accurate again.

So far, Samsung has not officially responded to the issue. Until a software update fixes the problem, affected users may need to focus on how long the watch actually lasts instead of checking the battery percentage on the screen. Stay tuned for more information.
