Super Bowl 2026: Patriots rookie Will Campbell declines to speak with media after allowing 14 QB pressures

The New England Patriots had massive expectations when they selected offensive lineman Will Campbell with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Campbell was supposed to serve as Drake Maye's blindside protector, keeping the future of the franchise safe from opposing pass rushers.

While Campbell did a decent job of that during the regular season, things completely fell apart against the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl 60. Campbell allowed an astounding 14 quarterback pressures during the contest, per Next Gen Stats. That was the most allowed by any player in a single game the entire 2025 season, including the playoffs.Β

After that performance, the 22-year-old Campbell declined to speak to the media following the 29-13 loss, per the Boston Globe.

Campbell was reportedly asked to speak multiple times, but declined before leaving the locker room.

It's not the best look for the rookie, who had an especially tough time throughout the playoffs. During the postseason, Campbell ranked 29th out of 30 tackles in pass block win rate, per Ed Werder. Campbell definitely played a role in Maye getting sacked 21 times during the team's four postseason games.

But to put all the blame on Campbell would be foolish. The rookie didn't play well, but he was far from the only member of the Patriots' offensive line who faltered down the stretch. Guard Jared Wilson also rated out poorly over the four postseason games, per Werder.

While Campbell's performance stood out Sunday, he wasn't the sole reason the Patriots gave up six sacks and two interceptions. Seattle's defense was ferocious, getting pressure against essentially every member of the Patriots' line the entire evening. All of that combined to speed up Maye and make him uncomfortable, leading to some missed passes and costly errors.Β

Campbell's struggles also may have been overstated depending on which advanced metric proprietor you trust. Pro Football Focus' metrics list Campbell with three pressures allowed in Super Bowl 60. He still struggled, but maybe not as much as Next Gen Stats initially suggested.

Figuring out exactly what went wrong for Campbell should be a major focus for the Patriots over the offseason. Campbell wasn't miserable in the regular season, ranking as the 32nd left tackle in the NFL according to PFF's metrics. It was a promising enough performance that fans could envision a future where Campbell improved in his second season and ranked within the top half of the league at his position.

But after his immense struggles in the playoffs, the Patriots may need to re-evaluate Campbell's future. When Campbell was coming out of the draft, some questioned whether he would hold up as a tackle in the NFL due to his short wingspan. Is a position change a reality following Campbell's poor postseason, or will the Patriots continue to show faith in him as a tackle?

The development puts an even bigger damper on the Patriots' Super Bowl loss. The entire team got exposed in Super Bowl 60, but no player found themselves under a microscope more than Campbell, the team's first-round pick.

Campbell, of course, is exceptionally young and shouldn't be written off after a poor stretch against some of the best pass rushers in the NFL. If anything, his struggles are a reminder that the Patriots were never supposed to be this good so quickly, and that the team still has work to do to solidify itself as as Super Bowl contender next season.

Super Bowl 2026: Monstrous $180 burger slathered in blue cheese fondue delights and also disgusts fans

Food monstrosities at sporting events in the United States are as American an baseball or apple pie at this point. There's a reason wild food concoctions go viral at the start of every baseball season: Fans both love and hate to see what the warped culinary minds of the country will come up with next.Β

But all of that gets taken to the next level when you combine that American pastime with the biggest, most expensive sporting event the United States can offer: The Super Bowl.

Put all of that together, and that explains why there's a $180 burger being sold at Super Bowl 60. No, really.Β

How, exactly, do you add enough ingredients to a burger to make it total $180? We're glad you asked. The burger in question β€” called the LX Hammer Burger β€” features bone-in beef shank, a roasted mirepoix demi-glace and blue cheese fondue that cascades down the burger on all sides. All of that sits in between two brioche buns.Β

While there is some evidence the finished product actually looks like a burger, the video above doesn't do it any favors. Culinary icon Guy Fieri might describe it as a "toxic waste dump in Flavortown." Of course, Fieri does have a dish called "trash can nachos," so that's pretty high praise coming from the Mayor of Flavortown, all things considered.Β

When you combine excess with decadence, it doesn't always look pretty, and the LX Hammer Burger seems to be an incredible example of that.Β

So, of course, the big question is ... would you eat it? Is that even possible? One imagines a medical professional would need to be called in at some point before a person finished the entire burger. And while the burger is probably supposed to be split multiple ways, we still aren't sure how many bites it would take before your arteries start pumping straight bleu cheese.

Maybe that's for the best, though. A dish this audacious doesn't deserved to merely be consumed. It deserves to live on as a modern piece of art and a monument to American ingenuity.Β

Winter Olympics 2026: Opening Ceremony date, schedule, cauldron lighting time and performers at Milan Cortina Games

Select events at the Milan Cortina Olympics are already underway, but the "start" of the Olympics is always associated with the Opening Ceremony. The event, which kicks off every Olympics, often features massive displays of pageantry by the host country, celebrating the history of the games and highlighting athletes from each country.

While an impressive show is expected Friday, the Milan Cortina Games will do a few things differently during the Opening Ceremony. For the first time in Olympics history, the event will be spread across multiple locations. The main ceremony will be held at Milan's San Siro Olympic Stadium. At the same time, Cortina d’Ampezzo β€” one of the game's host cities β€” will also stage a ceremony of its own.

With the Winter Olympics 2026 Opening Ceremony nearly underway, here's everything you need to know about the festivities at the Milan Cortina games.

When is the Opening Ceremony?

The Milan Cortina Opening Ceremony will take place Friday, Feb. 6, at roughly 2 p.m. ET. It will be 8 p.m. in Italy when the Opening Ceremony kicks off. The entire event is expected to take roughly three hours.

Olympics Opening Ceremony schedule

Organizers keep the exact schedule for the Opening Ceremony a secret as a way to surprise viewers. Opening Ceremonies at the Olympics typically feature a parade of athletes and flagbearers β€” Erin Jackson and Frank Del Duca for the Unites States β€” and the lighting of the Olympic cauldron. There will be plenty of other surprises thrown into the ceremony, but there is no set schedule of events once the opening ceremony begins.

What time is the Olympic cauldron lighting?

There's no exact time set for the Olympic cauldron lighting, but they β€” yes, there are two, one in Milan, the other in Cortina β€” will likely be lit toward the end of the opening ceremony. With the Opening Ceremony expected to last about three hours, the cauldrons will likely be lit in the last 30-45 minutes of the event.Β

Why are there two Olympic cauldrons at the 2026 games?

History will be made at the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics. During the Opening Ceremony Friday, Olympic torches will be used to light two separate cauldrons, the first time that's ever happened in the history of the event.Β

The lightings, which will take place simultaneously, will occur in two separate locations. One is located in Milano at the Arco della Pace. The second is located in Cortina d’Ampezzo in Piazza Dibona. Olympic organizers decided on two cauldrons as a way to show harmony and unity between both host cities of the 2026 Olympics.Β

The cauldrons are meant to evoke the work of Leonardo da Vinci, particularly his knots, which appeared in his paintings and in his manuscripts.Β

Who will perform at the Opening Ceremony?

Mariah Carey is among the performers who will appear at the ceremony. Carey is a six-time Grammy award winner and a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame. In addition to Carey, Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli will also perform at the Opening Ceremony. Chinese pianst Lang Lang and Italian actor Sabrina Impacciatore will also perform at the event.Β

How to watch the Milan Cortina Opening Ceremony

The Milan Cortina Opening Ceremony will air on NBC and stream on Peacock. The event will be carried live on Peacock around 2 p.m. ET. It will then air in primetime on NBC at 8 p.m. ET.
