Itβs been a difficult season for West Ham, who remain in a battle to escape relegation from the Premier League.
David could surely have been a useful signing to give them more of a goal threat up front, but itβs also still true that it would have been a gamble with no guarantees.
Even if the 26-year-old was a consistent goal-scorer during his time in Ligue 1, heβs clearly struggled since making the step up to Serie A, and the Premier League would only be a bigger challenge for him.
