Samsung to launch its next 200MP sensor in 2027
Samsung is working on its largest 200-megapixel camera sensor, the ISOCELL HPA. It is expected to launch in 2027. This new sensor will help Samsung take better photos and compete with other brands like Sony and OmniVision.
According to the tipster, Digital Chat Station,Β the ISOCELL HPA will have a 1/1.12-inch sensor size, almost as big as a 1-inch sensor. It is the same size as Sonyβs 200MP LYT-901 sensor and Samsungβs 50MP ISOCELL GN2 sensor. Bigger sensors capture more light, which means photos will be brighter and clearer, even in very dark or very bright scenes.
The sensor is also said to use LOFIC technology. LOFIC helps the camera capture more details in both shadows and highlights. This means your photos and videos will look balanced and more natural without parts being too dark or too bright.

Samsung has made other 200MP sensors before, but none were this large. The ISOCELL HPA could appear in upcoming flagship phones, especially in βUltraβ models from Chinese brands. At the same time, leaks say the Galaxy S27 Ultra might use a slightly smaller ISOCELL HP6 sensor at 1/1.3-inch, which should still perform very well.
Aside from this, Samsung recently launched the Galaxy S26 series, and it is now available for preorder. Also, the company is offering amazing offers and freebies on pre-order.
