Samsung Wallet introduces Digital Home Key for seamless home access

2 March 2026 at 22:08

Samsung is making it easier than ever to leave your keys at home. With the new Digital Home Key feature in Samsung Wallet, Galaxy smartphone users can unlock their doors right from their phone. Now, no more blunders for physical keys as your phone becomes your key.

Starting in March 2026, the feature is rolling out in select regions and will grow as more smart locks become compatible. Samsung Wallet already stores things like payment cards, ID cards, passes, and even digital car keys.

With Digital Home Key, your home access joins the Samsung Wallet. It makes Samsung Wallet a one-stop app for the things that matter most. The setup is quite simple. First, you need a compatible smart door lock set up through Samsung SmartThings using the Matter smart home standard.Β

During the setup, you can add your home key to Samsung Wallet. Once it’s added, unlocking your door is as easy as tapping your phone on the lock using NFC. You can also unlock your door straight from the app.

Notably, the keys are stored safely in Samsung Wallet and protected by Samsung Knox. Even if your phone is lost, you can remove access remotely using Samsung Find. Also, your key is protected by biometric authentication or a PIN, so only you can use it.
