Samsung rolls out One UI 8.5 Beta 8 with tons of changes
While everyone was anticipating the One UI 8.5 Beta Programβs launch for the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung stunned with the rollout of One UI 8.5 Beta 8 for the Galaxy S25 series.
One UI 8.5 Beta 8 (ZZCD) has started rolling out to the Samsung Galaxy S25 series. Starting in Germany, the update quickly expanded to India, Poland, South Korea, and the UK. It is about to go live in the United States, just a matter of time.
Unlike recent Betas, the eighth release brings tons of changes. The update includes new functions, improvements, and bug fixes. Users will have a better experience while using the Beta firmware on their flagship phones.
Whatβs new in One UI 8.5 Beta 8
The latest One UI 8.5 Beta 8 update for the S25 series focuses on polishing everyday usability rather than introducing major features. It adds a new Gallery story format for periodic reviews and improves stability across media handling and previews.
Several fixes address annoying bugs tied to camera previews, cloud-based videos, and Studio edits. Issues like missing original files after resolution changes and incorrect date displays during video edits have now been resolved for a smoother creative workflow experience.
The update also refines system behavior, including notification flickering, persistent bubble badges, and disappearing shortcuts. It further fixes problems with corrupted captures in Naver Map and improves file transfers, especially when copying folders via shared storage with Galaxy Book devices.
Here are the release notes:
- Added a new story type within the Gallery (monthly/quarterly/yearly review)
- Improved the issue of corrupted camera quick view previews when cloud-exclusive videos were the latest
- Fixed an issue where originals were not restored after changing the storage resolution in Studio
- Improved the flickering when updating real-time notification cards
- Improved the bubble notification badge not disappearing after checking received bubble notification
- Fixed an issue where the clock shortcut disappeared when the screen was turned off while Now Brief was running
- Improved an issue where the date was displayed incorrectly after editing a video with metadata errors
- Improved an issue where shots were corrupted or not captured when scrolling in Naver Map
- Improved the issue where certain folders could not be copied when connected to shared storage with Galaxy Book 4.
