Saints QB Tyler Shough is already putting in extra work for his offense days before the 2026 NFL Draft

The New Orleans Saints quarterback isnβt settling after a strong rookie campaign. Instead, he is looking to improve with some of his teammates in black and gold right before this yearβs NFL Draft.
The New Orleans Saints are hopeful entering the 2026 season. This yearβs NFL Draft will affect their roster outlook plenty, but quarterback Tyler Shough is already getting to work.

Matavao could see an increased role after being a seventh-round draft pick in 2025. Johnson is the starting tight end for New Orleans and should see plenty of targets in 2025. Mitchell-Paden was an in-season addition last year and spent time on the active roster and practice squad.
Means will be firmly on the roster bubble, along with JaβLynn Polk entering next season. Austin had his most productive season of his career in 2025 and will hope to be depth once again for the Saints. Depending on how they navigate this yearβs draft, all three will have to compete for a role in the passing game for the Saints.
For Shough, he is hoping to get some extra reps in with these guys he may see legit time with in 2026.
The young quarterback needs more help, though.
Wide receiver is one of the biggest draft needs on the roster, and New Orleans could also use a contender for the backup tight end role entering next season. It would not be surprising to see them use a pick on day two or three to address the TE spot behind Johnson.
