Fantasy Football Mock Draft Video: What is Jayden Daniels' ceiling if he can stay healthy in 2026?

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels will be one of the more polarizing names for fantasy football in 2026. On one hand, he’s coming off an injury-riddled season in which he only played seven games. Even in those seven games, Daniels averaged just 16.7 fantasy points per game, good for a tie for QB18 overall.

But when healthy, we know the type of player Daniels can be for fantasy — a league-winner. As a rookie, he was just that, finishing as the QB4 in total scoring in 2024. So, entering Year 3 in the NFL, what do we make of Daniels?

Matt Harmon and Justin Boone discussed the Commanders QB on the latest episode of the Yahoo Fantasy Forecast, where the two break down Yahoo’s recent 10-round mock draft.

Boone was able to snag Daniels in the eighth round of the mock draft, but considered taking him a round earlier. QBs were dropping, given the 1QB format but Boone wanted to stack Daniels with WR Terry McLaurin. Boone grouped Daniels in with Joe Burrow and even Caleb Williams as QBs with top-five fantasy potential at the position for 2026.

There’s plenty of risk with all three of those QBs, especially Daniels, given his injury history and aggressive running style. But Boone points to the depth at the position and ability for managers to find above-average replacements if Daniels were to miss games again. His backup, Marcus Mariota, played well for most of 2026 in Daniels’ stead. Even signal-callers like Dak Prescott and Brock Purdy were available past the 10th round in this mock. If you’re that worried, you can grab some insurance for Daniels.

Boone has Daniels ranked fifth in his early 2026 fantasy football rankings for the QB position post-NFL Draft.

Fantasy Football: Will Trey McBride regress in 2026? And how does he stack up vs. Brock Bowers?

In 2025, Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride lit the fantasy football world on fire with his historic season. He set the record for receptions at the position with 126 en route to finishing as the TE1 in fantasy overall. So, understandably, the narrative going into this season is whether or not McBride will regress on his monumental season.

[Join or create a Yahoo Fantasy Football league for the 2026 NFL season]

In fantasy, McBride finished with 242.9 points from Weeks 1 through 17. The TE2 was Kyle Pitts Sr., who finished with 158 fantasy points. That’s a pretty huge gap between the top TE and the next-man-up.

Matt Harmon and Justin Boone examined McBride’s prospects for next season on the latest Yahoo Fantasy Forecast, in which the two discuss the Yahoo staff’s 10-round mock draft.

Harmon starts us off by stating that McBride had a whopping 694 routes run last season. That number didn’t just lead tight ends, it led all receivers in the NFL. Who was in second place, you ask? His teammate, WR Michael Wilson. So, it’s tough to expect the Cardinals to repeat this trend with a new coaching staff and the presence of rookie RB Jeremiyah Love.

Harmon still thinks the Cardinals will have a lot of pass-first game scripts in 2026 but McBride should regress, simply from a “raw stats” perspective. Harmon was fine with where McBride went in the mock draft — the third round at Pick No. 22 to Boone — but believes that Raiders TE Brock Bowers should be going ahead of the Cardinals star, as was the case in the mock.

Boone reiterates that it has nothing to do with the talent level of these tight ends. It’s simply the setup. Both tight ends are right at the top of the receiver food chain on their respective teams, which is exactly what you want as a manager. The more Boone looks at it, the more Bowers is primed for a really strong season in Las Vegas under new head coach Klint Kubiak. The Raiders didn’t bring in much competition for Bowers at receiver.

Boone does have Bowers over McBride at the top of his tight end fantasy football rankings for 2026 post-NFL Draft.

It’s the first Monday of May, which means The Metropolitan Museum of Art is holding its annual Met Gala. As always, plenty of the sports world’s biggest stars were in attendance, donning fashions in line with this year’s dress code: “Fashion is Art.”

Per the Met’s website, the dress code invites “guests to express their own relationship to fashion as an embodied art form and celebrate the countless depictions of the dressed body throughout art history.”

Tennis star Venus Williams was one of the first to hit the red carpet, as she is one of this year’s co-chairs, alongside Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman and Anna Wintour. Four-time WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson is one of the host committee members for the event.

Another tennis star, Naomi Osaka, brought the drama in not one, but two outfits. She removed her white coat ensemble to reveal a sparkly red dress and dramatic gloves.
