Disney Adventure Cruise Scrapped Mid-Boarding Over Mechanical Issue
Thousands of cruisers have been left disappointed after their long weekend cruise aboard Disney Adventure from Singapore was belatedly canceled.

Guests were on the ship and scheduled to depart from Singapore’s Marina Bay Cruise Centre on May 7.
Ship canceled one day after scheduled departure without leaving port
The ship remained overnight at the cruise terminal while a team of technicians tried to fix a mechanical issue. That proved unsuccessful and guests were officially told Friday afternoon that the four-night sailing was canceled.
“We apologize to our guests and are working with them directly to provide support for their travel needs,” Disney Cruise Line said.
“We are truly sorry that we are unable to proceed with your Disney Adventure experience. We fully understand how upsetting and disappointing this news is.”
Generous compensation offered
The cruise line said all guests will be fully refunded their cruise fare and any unused prepaid packages. Additionally, they are entitled to a 50% future cruise credit.
Guests also get a complimentary one-night hotel stay in Singapore including transfer, plus up to US$500 per stateroom to cover any other associated costs. Guests who flew into Singapore for their cruise will also get flight change fees covered by the cruise line.
The cruise line hasn’t disclosed what the specific mechanical issue was. As of Friday, Disney said the next scheduled sailing on May 11 is expected to proceed as planned.
Guests took to social media to vent their frustrations, although many also praised the generous compensation the cruise line is offering.
Disney Adventure is the line’s newest and largest ship, which debuted in March 2026. It measures approximately 208,000 gross tons and can accommodate around 6,700 guests. It is the first Disney ship based in Asia and currently sails short cruises to nowhere with no port calls.
The ship is set to homeport in the Lion City for at least the next five years.
