Samsung Collection upgrade expands intelligent drag and drop globally

22 May 2026 at 21:01

Samsung Collection app is a built-in feature on Galaxy phones that helps users save and organize things like text, images, links, and notes in one place. With the new One UI 8.5 update, the app is getting many useful improvements to make it faster and easier to use. And these features are now live globally.

According to Galaxy Techie, the main upgrade is Intelligent Drag and Drop. Now users can drag content more smoothly and see a new side panel with a soft, blurred glow effect. This panel also opens faster and includes better shortcuts. However, on some global devices, drag-and-drop shortcuts may still not work properly and can sometimes crash.

The app also gets new options like Full Page Save, which lets users save an entire web page directly into Collection. You can also now send saved items to the Gallery or move them to the Secure Folder for privacy.

Some apps and features inside Galaxy phones are also improved. Tools like Bixby, Touch to Search, and Social Composer now open faster than before.

Moreover, sharing and smart tools are also improved. You can quickly save notes, share files using Quick Share, or open content in editing tools. You can also search for things using Google or use Gemini. All of these actions are now faster.

An AI summary feature can now understand more types of content and show simple tips for new users. This makes it easier to understand long text or pages quickly. There is also a hidden test menu for advanced users, but most people will not need it. It is mainly used for testing AI and system features.

One UI 8.5 makes Samsung Collection more useful, faster, and easier to use, even though some features are still not fully stable on all devices.
