From Galaxy Note to Galaxy Z Flip: Samsung may retire another iconic series
Way back in 2020, Samsung launched the last Galaxy Note lineup and discontinued it in 2021. Now in 2026, we are hearing that the Galaxy Z Flip series may retire the same way the Galaxy Note did around five years ago.
Galaxy Z Flip 8 is coming next month and looks beautiful. Samsung hasnβt made any changes to the next Flip phoneβs appearance. Changes are made inside to elevate the overall user experience as well as performance.
Meanwhile, thereβs no certainty about the next Flip phone. We may not see a new Galaxy Z Flip phone launch in the following year. Weβve heard the same last month, and another source has now made the same claim.
X leaker fireuniverse claims that the Z Flip 8 may not see a successor. Samsung may have planned to launch the Flip 8 as the farewell model. The company has shifted focus to the Galaxy Z Fold lineup, and preps have already begun.

Samsung has added a new foldable to its Galaxy Z Fold lineup. The July Unpacked will be bringing two book-style foldables alongside a clamshell. Next yearβs Unpacked might not be the same and the Flip range will be missed.
Flip phones are quite famous among female shoppers. They are not just a phone but a fashion statement due to their compact size and portability. Samsung accessories take the experience to the whole new level for carrying the device.
Well, Samsung hasnβt officially confirmed such changes to the lineup. Thereβs a full year ahead until next yearβs Unpacked event. If Flip 8 performs exceptionally well this year, it will be hard for Samsung to discontinue it.
