Samsung Intelligent Eyewear to challenge Meta with 2 million sales
At I/O 2026, Google introduced AI smart glasses built with Samsung and styled in partnership with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster. The first Samsung Intelligent Eyewear is predicted to reach 2 million sales in a new report.
Smart Analytics Global forecasts AI smart glasses shipments will clear 15 million units globally in 2026, up 85% year on year. Audio models will carry almost all of that volume, around 91% of total shipments.
SAG expects the Samsung Intelligent Eyewear to ship over 2 million units in 2026, which would hand it roughly 18% market share and the number two spot, behind Meta and ahead of Chinese players like Rokid, Xiaomi, and Huawei.
Warby Parker brings physical retail density across North America, prescription capability and the kind of optician credibility that Samsung and Google couldnβt fake if they tried. Gentle Monster brings something harder to manufacture: cool.
Meta isnβt panicking yet. Itβs got Ray-Ban brand recognition, early-mover advantage and a growing AI assistant that consumers have started to trust.
However, Googleβs entry reshapes the math: Gemini integration, Samsungβs device manufacturing experience, two very different but precisely chosen eyewear partners.
