2026 Preakness Stakes: How to watch, horses, odds, post time, where to stream and more

The Preakness Stakes is the second horse race in the Triple Crown, sandwiched between the Kentucky Derby and the Belmont Stakes. This year’s 151st running of the Preakness marks the first time in over 100 years that it will not be held at the famous Pimlico Race Course, which is currently undergoing a massive facility upgrade. Instead, it will be held at Laurel Park in Laurel, Maryland.

This year’s Preakness is also notable because of which horses will not be running in the May 16 race: 2026 Kentucky Derby winner Golden Tempo is sitting out, as is another favored horse, Crude Velocity; their trainers are instead choosing to rest them in order to focus on the upcoming Belmont Stakes in June. You can see which horses will race at Laurel Park below, and find out everything else you need to know about how to watch this year’s Preakness Stakes.
