Stacked player field announced for next week’s Travelers Championship
The Travelers Championship returns to Cromwell’s TPC River Highlands course next week and, once again, the player field is stacked for New England’s only PGA Tour signature event.
This year’s field, headlined by past champions Keegan Bradley and Scottie Scheffler, features all but one of the eligible top 50 players in the Official World Golf rankings. Current FedExCup leader, Matt Fitzpatrick, will be on the 6,844-yard, par-70 course, along with the top players chasing him, like Scheffler (No. 2), Cameron Young (No. 3) and Collin Morikawa (No. 4).
There are five past winners of the Travelers Championship expected to compete with Bradley (2025), Scheffler (2024), Xander Schauffele (2022), Harris English (2021) and Jordan Spieth (2017) also in the field. Also included is Connecticut native Ben James, who recently earned his PGA Tour card and will be playing his home-state event for the first time as a professional.
“The caliber of PGA Tour professionals committed to play in next week’s Travelers Championship is a testament to what the event has become,” Andy Bessette, Travelers chief administrative officer, said in a release. “It’s certainly a win for golf fans in New England, but just as importantly, hosting such an exceptional week of golf makes a real difference for hundreds of charities in the region while also delivering a meaningful economic impact.”
The Travelers winner will earn 700 FedExCup points in addition to their $3.6 million share of the $20 million purse.
The tournament is set to begin on Thursday with the final round on June 28. It will air on ESPN+, the Golf Channel, and NBC and Peacock throughout the week with broadcast times subject to change. That up-to-date information can be found on TravelersChampionship.com.
“Preparations are nearly complete and we’re ready to host the best players in the world,” said Nathan Grube, the tournament director. “The week is shaping up to be another unforgettable experience.”
