Samsung and Google reveal AI-powered smart glasses with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker at I/O 2026
Samsung is making AI-powered smart glasses, in collaboration with Google, which had their first real showcase at the I/O 2026.
At I/O 2026, Samsung and Google unveiled intelligent eyewear built in collaboration with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker, two brands that have spent years earning real credibility in fashion.
Two very different aesthetics
Gentle Monster brings its signature disruptive edge to the hardware. The frames reportedly lean boldly, sculptural, recognizably Gentle Monster. Warby Parker went the opposite direction, with cleaner lines and timeless shapes.
Both approaches feed into the same underlying hardware from Samsung and Google, which is a smart way to cover the taste spectrum without releasing a dozen monikers at launch.

The device runs Gemini and pairs with your phone as a companion. You can ask for a nearby coffee shop on your walking route and apparently order pickup without pulling your phone out.
Real-time translation works both ways, spoken audio and text youβre physically looking at, like a menu or a street sign. Summarized notifications come through the glasses too, so important texts donβt vanish into the void.
Samsung executive Jay Kim called it βa new AI form factorβ expanding the Galaxy ecosystem.
Googleβs Shahram Izadi, VP and GM of Android XR, framed it as making AI more accessible in everyday life.
Warby Parker co-CEO Dave Gilboa talked about precision optics and comfort. Gentle Monster founder Hankook Kim used the phrase βemotionally expressive.β
The first collections are scheduled to hit select markets this fall.
