Apple may be inspiring Samsung to go back to a feature it dropped in 2020

Apple is widely rumored to be introducing variable aperture on the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max later this year, and Samsung is apparently paying very close attention to iPhone-related rumors. The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S10 both had variable aperture main cameras, but the feature was dropped with the Galaxy S20 generation in 2020. If Samsung does adopt it again, then expect to see it on the Galaxy S27 family next year, so after a seven-year hiatus. It's quite interesting how...

The EU may force Meta to re-enable third-party AI chatbots on WhatsApp

The investigation is still ongoing, but the Commission feels that it can’t wait for the full investigation to conclude because the delay can cause irreparable harm to competition in the market. “AI markets are developing at rapid pace, so we also need to be swift in our action,” said Teresa Ribera, Executive...

Weekly poll: are you interested in the Moto G67 or Moto G77? What about the G17 or G17 Power?

At the end of January, Motorola unveiled two mid-range models, the Moto G67 and Moto G77, and two entry-level phones, the Moto G17 and G17 Power. What do you think – can one of these be your next phone or do you have another model in mind? The Motorola Moto G77 features a 6.78” 120Hz OLED display, a sharp 1,272 x 2,772px panel with 10-bit colors, HDR support and Gorilla Glass 7i protection. OpenAI's first hardware product will be AI-powered earbuds

According to a Chinese tipster on Weibo, OpenAI is gearing up to launch its first hardware product - a pair of earbuds, of course, powered by the company's own AI model. According to the report, the company decided to scale back on its hardware efforts for the time being, likely because of the rising hardware costs. At first, OpenAI was rumored to be working on a small pendant or a pen, which is in line with the CEO Sam Altman's remarks about the device being more "peaceful and calm" than a smartphone. Especially after OpenAI hired Apple's ex-chief designer Jony Ive. Plans have...

Weekly poll results: most people still don't care about magnetic charging

Last week we asked you how important magnetic wireless charging is to you. For now, the majority doesn’t particularly care – at best it’s a “nice to have” feature for them but nothing vital. The argument is simple, especially now that the whole world has converged on USB-C for charging – just use a cable. It’s faster and more efficient than any form of wireless charging. There is a caveat – many of the people who reported that they use wired charging only also said that they don’t need top-ups during the day. These days, phone batteries have gotten quite huge, so finding a phone that...

Weekly deals: OnePlus 13 is back with a vengeance, Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL on sale

There are two sayings that can’t both be true at the same time: “newer is better” and “old but gold”. Today, we’re going with the second one. Amazon dug up some left over OnePlus 13 units – only 12/256GB – and is selling them at $700. Coincidentally, that is the same price that the new OnePlus 15R sells for (to be fair, that also comes with a $100 gift card or store credit). The OnePlus 13 has the better screen (1440p+ LTPO vs. 1272p+ LTPS), better cameras (triple 50MP including a 3x/73mm periscope vs. no tele camera at all), even its chipset is better – the Snapdragon 8 Elite edges out...

Honor 600 to come with a bigger screen and battery

The Honor 500 launched back in November, but Honor is already allegedly working on its successor. Now some details about the Honor 600 got outed in China. The phone will allegedly have a 6.57-inch screen. That would be marginally bigger than the Honor 500's 6.55" panel. Perhaps more importantly, the Honor 600 is now being tested with a 9,000 mAh battery. Honor 500 That's 1,000 mAh bigger than its predecessor's, and for a smartphone of this size, it would be record-breaking. Unfortunately, no other details about the Honor 600 have been leaked just yet, but stay tuned and we'll let...

Weekly deals: Redmi Note 15 series prices are falling, Motorolas also get discounts

Now there is a €30 voucher, which brings the final price down to €320. An 8/256GB version is also available, though since it’s only €20 cheaper, we recommend getting the version with more RAM and double the storage. The Redmi Note 15 Pro has a 6.83” 12-bit 120Hz OLED display and a Dimensity 7300 Ultra chipset. The phone boasts a 200MP main camera (1/1.4” sensor, OIS), but the ultra-wide (8MP) and...

Samsung Galaxy A57 5G inches closer to launch as it gets Bluetooth certified

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy A56 last March, but it's rumored to introduce the Galaxy A57 5G early, that is, in the second week of this month, meaning next week. While there's no word yet from Samsung on the Galaxy A57 5G, we expect the smartphone to go official soon, as it has been certified by the Bluetooth SIG, bringing it a step closer to launch. Bluetooth SIG has listed multiple models of the Samsung Galaxy A57 5G, which are all region-specific versions, with the one bearing model designation SM-A576S expected to be released exclusively through SK Telecom in South Korea. Poco X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max prices officially revealed by mistake

We get a ton of leaks and rumors about upcoming devices as you probably know, but this one is something special. It's not actually a leak. Instead, someone in charge of Poco's official website for Belgium mistakenly uploaded pricing information for the yet-unannounced Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max. The images in question (which you can see below) were quickly taken down, but the Internet is forever, so there's no hiding now. Let's start with the Poco X8 Pro. It will go for €399.90 in its base configuration with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The model with 512GB of space will be priced...

Oppo K14 is on the way too, certification reveals

Oppo is launching the K14x in India next week, and it's also working on the K14 Turbo and K14 Turbo Pro for China. There will, however, also be a 'vanilla' Oppo K14. This has been revealed through its certification by the Bluetooth SIG. It has the model number CPH2869, whereas the K14x (which was also certified by the same authority) has the model number CPH2871. No other details are known about the K14 yet, but its model number reveals that it's headed to international markets outside of China. We'll let you know when we find out more about it. Via

Samsung Galaxy S26 official renders leak

Following up on the earlier leak showing the Galaxy S26 Ultra from all angles through a 360-degree video, Evan Blass (aka @evleaks) is now back with some very official-looking high-res renders depicting what seems to be the vanilla Galaxy S26. Of course there's a chance it's the S26+ in these images, but based on how much the camera island occupies of the total length, it's a tad more likely it's the S26. Samsung Galaxy S26 leaked renders There is, of course, nothing new here, but we are seeing the white color and all of the previously leaked features of the design are...

Apple is reportedly scrapping its AI-powered Health+ service

A report last year claimed that Apple is working on a new AI-powered Health+ service that can give suggestions based on the gathered health data and even suggest form correction during exercise via the iPhone camera. However, the latest rumor is that the company is scaling back those efforts. A few months after Apple moved its Health and Fitness teams under the Services group, led by Eddy Cue, the company is giving up on its rumored Health+ service because Cue thinks Apple isn't competitive enough. According to internal sources, Eddy Cue wanted Apple to move faster and be more...
