One UI 9 turns your Galaxy S26 into a smart driving assistant

Samsung has added a new feature, Driving Insights, in the One UI 9 beta update for the Galaxy S26 series. The feature uses AI to study how people drive and gives feedback to help them become safer drivers. It may also help users lower their car insurance costs in the future.

Driving Insights is available (via Android Authority)in the Connected Devices section of the phone settings. The app uses the phone’s sensors to track things like speed, braking, acceleration, and sudden turns. After collecting the data, it creates simple daily or weekly reports about driving habits.

The feature can automatically turn on when the phone connects to a car through Bluetooth or Android Auto. Samsung may also show driving reports through the Now Brief feature.

The app works like telematics systems used by many insurance companies. These systems check driving behavior and offer discounts to safe drivers. If insurance companies support Samsung’s feature, users may get lower insurance premiums.

Driving Insights can also help families. Parents can check how their teenage children are driving. The app also includes a geofencing feature that sends alerts if the vehicle moves outside a selected area.

Some users may worry about privacy because the app tracks driving behavior. However, Samsung says the feature is designed to improve safety and help users manage their vehicles better.

Driving Insights is currently available in the One UI 9 beta for Galaxy S26 phones and is already being tested by users.
