Samsung to launch Galaxy Wide 9 and Jump 5 smartphones next month

Samsung is preparing to launch Galaxy Wide 9 and Jump 5 smartphones in Korea next month. The two devices will join the party with the Galaxy A37. The Korea-specific versions will be offered by SK Telecom and KT in the country.

Galaxy A37, Wide 9, and Jump 5 headed to Korea

The flagship of the bunch is the Galaxy A37 5G, a mainstream mid-ranger that’s cleared all regulatory certifications and is waiting on Samsung to pull the trigger based on market conditions.

Riding alongside it are carrier exclusives from SK Telecom and KT, the Galaxy Wide 9 and Galaxy Jump 5, respectively, rounding out a lineup that will go head-to-head with LG Uplus’ Galaxy Buddy 5, which already landed on shelves May 15.

The Galaxy A37 5G is a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED device with a 120Hz refresh rate and Samsung’s Vision Booster. It brings a triple camera setup with a 50MP main sensor, plus a 5000mAh battery and 45W fast charging.

SK Telecom’s Galaxy Wide 9 is essentially Galaxy M17 5G dressed in SK’s clothes. KT’s Galaxy Jump 5 is murkier; the only confirmed detail surfaced through test firmware spotted earlier this year, which placed it on a Galaxy A27 5G base.

A well-subsidized Wide 9 or Jump 5 paired with a premium plan can effectively become a free phone. Three carriers, four phones, one very crowded month. Korean consumers win here, and Samsung knows exactly what it’s doing.
