[2-Day, 1- Tomari Kyoto - Part 1] Enjoy gourmet food and tableware in Gojo! Recommended itinerary

Introduction

The charm of Kyoto, Japan's ancient capital

Kyoto is a historic city that has flourished as the center of Japanese culture for over a thousand years. World Heritage-registered temples and shrines such as Kinkaku-ji Temple and Kiyomizu-dera Temple captivate visitors with their history and beauty. Kyoto is one of the places where you can experience Japan's four seasons most vividly, with cherry blossoms fluttering in the spring, the bustling Gion Festival in summer, Nishiki leaves decorating the mountains in autumn, and the temples enveloping them in a mystical blanket of snow in winter. A visit to Kyoto is sure to be a moving experience no matter what season you visit. At the same time, Kyoto is also a city where cutting-edge trends are born in a variety of fields, including gourmet food and art, and where the contrast between old and new is fascinating.

The Gojo area in particular is a hidden gem, dotted with unique shops and a relaxed atmosphere, despite being close to the tourist-filled Shimizu area and the bustling downtown areas of Shijo and Gion. This time, we'll introduce a special two- Tomari, one-night itinerary (first day edition) based at THE BLOSSOM KYOTO, a hotel nestled in Gojo. From long-established restaurants beloved by locals to hidden gems only accessible to travelers, we'll guide you through a special time where you can fully enjoy the food, culture, and history of Kyoto.

Reasons for choosing THE BLOSSOM KYOTO as your base

THE BLOSSOM KYOTO is a hotel located in an excellent location, just one subway stop from Kyoto Station and a two-minute walk from Gojo Station on the Karasuma Line of the Kyoto Municipal Subway. It is ideal for stays where you will be traveling frequently for sightseeing or business.

Our first stop is Sobanomi Yoshimura, located just one subway stop from Kyoto Station, right outside Exit 1 of Gojo Station. In a relaxing atmosphere reminiscent of a traditional Japanese townhouse, you can enjoy fragrant soba noodles made with stone-ground domestic buckwheat flour, as well as freshly fried tempura. An English menu is also available, making it convenient for international travelers.

▶Access: Immediately outside Gojo Station Exit 1 / Approximately 1 minute walk from THE BLOSSOM KYOTO

②15:00 Check in at "THE BLOSSOM KYOTO"

After enjoying authentic soba noodles at Sobanomi Yoshimura, it's just a 2-minute walk to THE BLOSSOM KYOTO .
When you check in, you can enjoy a welcome drink and sweets as a subtle gesture of hospitality. Even if you're full from lunch, the carefully prepared high-quality drinks and light sweets will provide both flavor and satisfaction, making for an elegant start to your trip.

▶Welcome drink serving time: 15:00-18:00

The room we will introduce this time is the "Moderate Twin," which combines a calming atmosphere with a Japanese feel.
Once you take off your shoes at the entrance and step into the tatami-floored space, you'll feel as if you've returned to your own home in Japan. The delicate patterns on the walls and cushions evoke a Japanese aesthetic, and the high-quality materials and furnishings create a sophisticated and luxurious atmosphere.

The guest rooms are equipped with "TABI SOCKS (Traditional Japanese Split Toe Socks)" to make your stay in Japan even more comfortable. Even those who are not used to going barefoot or who are a little uncomfortable with their feet can use them with peace of mind.
You can take it home as a memento of your trip, and it's a thoughtful touch that allows you to casually enjoy a cultural experience unique to Japan.

For group trips, we recommend the Deluxe Force Nagomi. This rare room type features four regular beds, making it perfect for family trips or friends. It also has two sinks and two toilets, making it easy to get ready in the morning.

Once you've sorted your luggage, head out for a stroll around the hotel. The communication space "Ainomachi no Kura" in the lobby on the first floor is designed to resemble the streets of Kyoto, allowing you to feel the atmosphere of the city without leaving your room. This space reuses building materials such as roof tiles and beams from storehouses that were once built in the area, creating a tasteful spatial piece that draws you into Kyoto's history and craftsmanship the more you look at it. It's also a popular photogenic spot. Even while staying at the hotel, you'll be able to experience Kyoto's culture and the weight of time with all your senses.

3. 4:00 PM: Enjoy the ultimate coffee at "blend kyoto"

After checking in, head to Blend Kyoto , a blended coffee specialty shop located in a stylish space renovated from a 100-year-old Kyomachi , an eight-minute walk from Marutamachi Subway Station. Kyoto is known as a city with a thriving coffee culture, and here you can not only drink coffee, but also enjoy the special experience of making your own cup of coffee.
Choose your favorite coffee bean from the many varieties lined up on the counter, and the staff will create a custom blend right in front of you. You can check the aroma as you select the beans, and sample the aroma of freshly ground beans, making this an irresistible luxury for coffee lovers.

On this day, I had iced coffee, perfect for summer. It had a rich aroma and a surprisingly smooth taste. Its deep, elegant flavor will add elegance to your time in Kyoto.

This luxurious experience, like spending time in a private cafe, is sure to become a deeply etched memory of your trip.

④18:00 Enjoy Kyoto cuisine at the hotel restaurant "KYOTO GOJO ONO"

The dinner menu at KYOTO GOJO ONO features a course of "Japanese and Western creative nouvelle cuisine" that combines carefully selected ingredients from Kyoto and Kyushu.

Fish and meat dishes are carefully prepared using low-temperature cooking (sous vide) to bring out the full flavor of the ingredients.
Delicate temperature control ensures dishes such as the "Red Sea Bream Mi-Cuit (41cc)" and "Miyazaki Prefecture Prefecture Kuroge Wagyu Sirloin (58cc)" are not only textured but also visually stunning and luxurious. One dish you should definitely try is the low-temperature roasted duck. Kyoto is home to many famous duck restaurants, and the duck is slowly cooked at a low temperature, allowing the flavor to spread with every bite. The moist, elegant, and juicy taste is truly a Kyoto treat.

The restaurant's interior is decorated in chic, subdued colors, and the open kitchen allows you to catch a glimpse of the chef's dexterity, creating a lively atmosphere. Guests can also enjoy a Toyotomi selection of cocktails and pairings with fine sake from Kyoto and Kyushu, providing a moment where you can fully enjoy a gourmet Kyoto experience with all five senses.

Two days in Gojo, Kyoto- from gourmet food and relaxation on the first day to culture and crafts on the second day

We enjoyed aromatic coffee at blend kyoto, a renovated 100-year-old townhouse, and in the evening enjoyed seasonal gourmet cuisine at the hotel's restaurant, KYOTO GOJO ONO. We ended the day by relaxing our minds and bodies in the large public bath and quietly reflecting on our luxurious time in Kyoto- truly the flow of a high-quality day.
The next day begins with a luxurious breakfast at the hotel, followed by a stroll along Sannenzaka Saka, a visit to famous Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki kilns, and an encounter with fine sake and sweets.
