Honor Magic 8 Pro set for global debut, heading soon to Malaysia
Last month, Honor unveiled the Magic 8 series of flagship phones in China. The lineup includes the Magic 8 and Magic 8 Pro, both powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. It appears that the brand is now planning to release the series in the global market as it has rolled out its first teaser in Malaysia.

The above poster confirms that the Honor Magic 8 Pro will be heading to Malaysia soon. However, there is no clarity on whether the base Magic 8 will be unveiled alongside the Pro edition. The Magic 8 Pro will likely debut at some point this month in the country.

The Honor Magic 8 Pro heading to markets outside of China is expected to pack a slightly smaller battery. While the Chinese edition features a massive 7,200mAh battery, its global version could be backed by a 6,720mAh battery.
The Magic 8 Pro has a 6.71-inch LTPO OLED screen that supports a 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and is integrated with an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor. It runs MagicOS 10 based on Android 16 and is expected to receive up to 7 years of Android OS upgrades.

In China, the Magic 8 Pro is available with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. It supports 120W wired and 80W wireless charging.
When it comes to optics, it offers a 50-megapixel selfie camera and a rear-facing triple camera setup headlined by an OIS-assisted 50-megapixel main camera. The main snapper is joined by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 200-megapixel Samsung HP9 sensor.
In China, the Magic 8 Pro’s base model with a 12GB+256GB configuration is priced at 5,699 Yuan (~$800). It comes in four shades, such as black, white, blue, and gold. It is unclear whether all the colour editions will be available globally.
