Samsung Galaxy TriFold phone to launch in limited quantities
Samsung is getting ready to launch its new tri-fold smartphone, a phone that can fold twice. However, only a very small number of these phones will be made at first, according to a report from TheElec.
Sources say Samsung has produced about 20,000 to 30,000 parts for the new device. This shows that the company still plans to release the phone before the end of the year, but the total number of units will be quite low.
Some of Samsung’s suppliers said they don’t know if the company will order more parts later. One supplier mentioned that Samsung wants to see how the market reacts before deciding to make more phones. In other words, the first release will be a small test to check customer interest and feedback.

Samsung reportedly showed the tri-fold phone during the APEC Summit in Gyeongju, South Korea, last week. Earlier this year, Samsung told suppliers it planned to make about 10,000 units in September, but that plan hasn’t moved forward. Suppliers said they expect Samsung to share an update about its schedule by December.
During its third-quarter earnings call, Samsung confirmed that the tri-fold phone will still launch within this year. The company seems to be taking a careful approach, releasing the device in small numbers to test the market first.
The new tri-fold smartphone could become an exciting step in Samsung’s foldable phone lineup. If customers respond well, it may lead to larger production in the future. For now, though, it looks like the phone will be released in very limited quantities
