GTA 6 Delayed to November 2026, Rockstar Promises More Polish Before Release
Rockstar Games has announced that Grand Theft Auto VI will now release on Thursday, November 19, 2026. In a post on X, the company wrote, “Grand Theft Auto VI will now release on Thursday, November 19, 2026. We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.” Rockstar also thanked fans for their patience and said it is “incredibly excited for players to experience the sprawling state of Leonida and a return to modern-day Vice City.”

This is the second major delay for GTA 6. The game was originally expected to launch in Fall 2025 before being postponed to May 26, 2026. Rockstar has now pushed it again by another six months, giving it a new release date in November 2026. The studio did not cite specific technical reasons for the delay, only saying the extra time will help ensure quality.
Online reaction to the news has been mixed. Many players on X expressed disappointment and frustration about waiting longer, saying the new date feels far away after years of anticipation. Others were more understanding, saying they prefer Rockstar to take more time if it means a smoother and more complete game at launch. A number of users joked about saving up for new consoles or upgrading PCs by the time the game finally arrives.
While disappointment is clear, most agree that more time could help Rockstar deliver the kind of polished experience the series is known for when GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026.
