REDMAGIC's 11 Pro faces the durability gauntlet and wins
The REDMAGIC 11 Pro has gone through the dreaded durability test and has come out in rather decent condition compared to what you might think would happen. Usually, with phone durability tests, the device doesn’t end up in a very good state by the end. Whether the display gets scratched up beyond usability or the phone bends in half, the end result is a device that is more often than not, unusable going forward.
That isn’t the case with the REDMAGIC 11 Pro by the looks of things. YouTube Channel JerryRigEverything has put the latest gaming phone from REDMAGIC through this durability gauntlet to see how things stack up, and the test resulted in a pleasant surprise. The phone still works completely fine by the end of it all. In other words, REDMAGIC seems to have intentionally made a very durable phone. At least in terms of bends and scratches. If you’re unfamiliar with the REDMAGIC 11 Pro, it was launched in China recently, and a global launch was announced this week. It uses a combination of liquid cooling and cooling fans to keep phone temperatures down. Unlike the REDMAGIC Astra, which has a cooling fan but no liquid cooling system.
The REDMAGIC 11 Pro survives a bend test thanks to its durability
Among the many things JerryRigEverything puts phones through in these tests, the bend test is the part that tends to be the most intriguing. For some, it’s the most dreaded part, because you have to watch a finely crafted piece of hardware meet its end by snapping in half.
That will not be the REDMAGIC 11 Pro’s fate. As you can see in the video below, an attempt was made to bend the phone, but that attempt failed. This device is incredibly sturdy, and no matter how mad you might get when using it, you probably won’t be able to bend it with your bare hands. Of course, that doesn’t mean it’s safe from all kinds of damage. However, it’s probably reassuring to know that in a fit of rage after losing a competitive match in your favorite game, bending the phone can be the least of your worries.
The REDMAGIC 11 Pro launched globally this week, and early bird purchases begin for it on November 13. This should also be available on Amazon eventually, but as of right now, direct from REDMAGIC will be the only way to get it.
