[Kumamoto Edition] A spectacular autumn view of magnificent nature and history (Gokanosho (Mogi Suspension Bridge))

⑤Gokanosho (fir tree suspension bridge)

Gokanosho, surrounded by mountains in the Kyushu Chuo Mountains ranging in elevation from 1,300 to 1,700 meters, is renowned as one of the prefecture's most beautiful spots during the autumn foliage season. Gokanosho, which reaches its peak in November every year, is located about a two-hour drive from Kumamoto City. As you pass through the area along National Route 445, the mountains begin to turn Aka and yellow, and the trees along the road take on vibrant hues. In particular, the area around Heike no Sato, where the Aka of the autumn leaves stands out against the traditional thatched-roof houses, Noh stage, and traditional Japanese buildings, creates a picturesque landscape that enhances the historic atmosphere. There's also a picnic area nearby, so it's recommended to bring a packed lunch and enjoy the autumn scenery.

Sanjuroen is located halfway between Obama and Unzen, and its autumn foliage reaches its peak every year from mid-November to early December. The first floor restaurant of JR Kyushu Hotel Blossom Naha will be renovated from 37 Steakhouse & Bar Naha to the Italian restaurant BARBARESCO 37 in July 2025.

"Barbaresco Trentasette" is a trattoria named after the Italian wine "Barbaresco." It serves authentic Italian cuisine using ingredients from Okinawa Prefecture in a spacious, high-quality space.

The interior, based on white and ocean blue, creates a different charm depending on the time of day. In the morning, the restaurant has a bright atmosphere with refreshing sunlight streaming in, and at night, it transforms into a quiet and elegant space reminiscent of the ocean of Okinawa. Equipped with private rooms and large screens, it can also be rented out for private meals, anniversary dinners, business use, and events.
