India’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) is stepping up its game for Winter 2025, joining an elite list of countries like the UK, Denmark, Indonesia, and the Netherlands with the introduction of new routes and enhanced travel offerings. These additions aim to boost international connectivity, offering passengers more options and smoother travel experiences during the busy winter season. The new routes are set to make travel more accessible and convenient for both business and leisure travelers, strengthening CSMIA’s position as a key global aviation hub.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai, a key aviation hub in India, has unveiled its Winter Schedule for 2025–2026, offering travelers an expanded range of domestic and international connections, increased flight frequencies, and enhanced convenience during the festive travel season. The new schedule, which will be effective from October 26, 2025, to March 28, 2026, marks a significant step in strengthening Mumbai’s position as a global gateway. With new routes, higher frequency of flights, and an emphasis on holiday travel, CSMIA is set to offer passengers a comprehensive and seamless travel experience.

The 2025–2026 Winter Schedule covers a total of 60 international and 69 domestic destinations, underscoring the airport’s status as one of the most vital transport hubs in the country. Compared to the 2024 Winter Schedule, this year’s plan sees a considerable expansion of international routes. CSMIA will now offer 12 European destinations and 19 destinations in the Asia Pacific region, a significant increase from the 8 and 16 destinations offered last winter, respectively. This expansion indicates the growing importance of Mumbai as a hub for both long-haul international travel and regional connectivity. The increase in flight routes and destinations will also lead to a higher number of daily flight movements, ensuring smooth operations and improved passenger flow during the peak travel season.

One of the highlights of this year’s Winter Schedule is the introduction of several new international routes, which will be launched for the first time from CSMIA. These include direct flights to Copenhagen, Denpasar Bali, and Athens, providing passengers with more travel options and access to popular destinations in Europe and Southeast Asia. These new routes reflect the increasing demand for international travel from Mumbai and align with the airport’s strategic goal of enhancing connectivity to key global markets. Additionally, the airport has increased the frequency of flights to established European destinations like London Heathrow, Amsterdam, and Paris, allowing for more travel flexibility for passengers heading to these popular cities.

In addition to the new international routes, the airport will continue to provide robust connectivity to major global cities across the Middle East, North America, and Asia. Leading international carriers, such as Emirates, Etihad, and British Airways, continue to operate out of CSMIA, ensuring that travelers have access to top-tier services and an extensive network of global destinations. On the domestic front, airlines such as IndiGo, Air India, and Akasa Air will maintain strong operations, with these three carriers together making up approximately 75% of the total operations at the airport during the winter schedule.

The expansion of international routes and the increase in flight frequencies are expected to result in an 18% growth in passenger traffic at CSMIA compared to the previous year. This growth will be fueled by the higher number of flight options available to travelers and the continued increase in demand for international and regional travel. In addition to the surge in international passenger traffic, domestic travel is also expected to see a rise, as many travelers look to take advantage of additional flights to popular destinations across India.

As the holiday season approaches, with school holidays, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve just around the corner, CSMIA is well-prepared to handle the surge in passenger numbers. With peak travel periods expected during the last quarter of 2025 and the first quarter of 2026, the airport has taken significant steps to ensure a smooth and efficient experience for all travelers. The airport will continue to offer innovative technologies and facilities designed to improve efficiency and reduce wait times, particularly during peak hours.

Among the key innovations introduced at CSMIA is the DigiYatra-enabled e-gates, which allow for faster check-in and clearance processes through biometric recognition. This technology minimizes the time passengers spend at various checkpoints, making the overall airport experience much more streamlined and efficient. In addition to this, CSMIA has implemented Self-Baggage Drop (SBD) stations and Self Check-in kiosks, which further enhance the passenger experience by reducing congestion and speeding up the check-in process. These facilities are especially beneficial during the busy travel periods of the winter season, where a large volume of passengers is expected.

The airport is also focused on improving its infrastructure to ensure that it meets the growing demands of both domestic and international passengers. CSMIA is continuously working on upgrading its facilities, expanding capacity, and enhancing customer services, all while maintaining high safety and operational standards. The airport’s efforts to reduce congestion, streamline services, and introduce new technologies will contribute to making travel smoother for passengers, ensuring they have a pleasant and stress-free experience.

Through the 2025–2026 Winter Schedule, Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) reinforces its commitment to offering world-class services and ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for millions of passengers traveling to and from Mumbai. By introducing new routes, boosting connectivity, and upgrading airport facilities, CSMIA is not only accommodating the growing demand for air travel but also positioning itself as one of the most modern and passenger-friendly airports in the world.

India’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) joins global leaders like the UK, Denmark, Indonesia, and the Netherlands in its Winter Schedule 2025, introducing new routes and enhanced travel experiences to boost connectivity and convenience for international travelers.

With these enhancements, CSMIA is poised to handle the anticipated surge in passengers, ensuring that travelers have access to a wider range of flight options, improved facilities, and a more efficient travel experience. As Mumbai continues to grow as a major global hub for air travel, CSMIA’s Winter Schedule for 2025–2026 is a testament to its dedication to providing passengers with a superior travel experience.
