Eintracht Frankfurt aim to take so far unspecified measures after being punished again by UEFA over misconduct by their fans.

Europe's governing body ruled that Frankfurt can not have any of their fans present at the next two away games in its competitions over the lighting of fireworks and damage in the stadium at their December 9 Champions League match at Barcelona.

UEFA enforced a suspended sentence handed out earlier in the year over incidents at a Europa League match at Roma by banning their fans for one away game, and banned them for an additional match.

Frankfurt were also prohibited to sell tickets for two away games back in 2019 over incidents caused by their fans.

In 2023 and 2025, the club was not allowed by Italian authorities to have their fans with them at matches at Napoli.

Frankfurt board member Philipp Reschke said in a club statement late Wednesday they may appeal the ban for the second game but also said things must change.

"What is clear now, however, is that things cannot go on in this way, as this is the third penalty of this kind since 2019. We will make clear and targeted adjustments, which we will set out in detail very soon," he said.

Frankfurt will have no travelling fans at their Champions League match in Qarabag in January and at their following European match. The club was also fined €38,000 ($44,600) by UEFA.

UEFA also sanctioned Bayern Bayern, who were ordered to close a section of their stadium for the next UEFA match in January against Union Saint-Gilloise for lighting of fireworks in the December 9 match against Sporting.

Like in the Frankfurt case, UEFA enforced a previous suspended measure.

A closure of the entire south stand at another match was suspended, with a two-year probation period.

UEFA also fined Bayern a total of €116,000 for various offences in the Sporting match and at the previous match at Arsenal in November.
