One UI 8.5 vs One UI 8.0: The end of Samsung’s ‘Battery Icon’

Samsung’s Battery Icon settings adopted a practical change in One UI 8.5, which makes it pretty much sensible over One UI 8.0. The new software is under development and features fruitful changes for both icon and status aesthetics.

One UI 8.5 Battery Status allows you to dump the icon entirely. Once deployed, it’s going to be the most preferred battery status on Galaxy phones. The status bar will become much cleaner without dumping battery percentage.

In the latest One UI skin, Samsung has brought a much-needed change to the Battery’s Status bar settings. While One UI 8.0 allows you to hide the percentage, the One UI 8.0 lets you hide the battery icon, while retaining the percent.

The stable One UI 8.0 has an option to show or hide battery percentage in the status bar. When enabled, it shows the battery’s level inside the battery icon. Disabling the toggle removes % and displays the icon to show the remaining juice.

The new One UI 8.5 takes a different direction. Samsung has made a percentage mandatory for the status bar. Users are now free to decide whether they want the battery level in the status bar or inside a dynamic battery pill.

You can also keep the battery icon background activated in One UI 8.5. Samsung has refined the size of its battery icon. The width has increased a little, while the height has been reduced to display the icon optimized in the status bar.
