Samsung in 2026: Galaxy S26, Fold 8, Flip 8, Wide Fold and Watch 9 incoming
I’ve been covering Samsung since the Galaxy Note 20 days, and 2025 felt like a breather year. Now, as we wrap up 2025, the rumors for 2026 point to Samsung Galaxy getting bold again. If these leaks hold, it could be a fun year for upgrades.
Early 2026: Galaxy S Series
The Galaxy S26 Ultra could hit market shelves in March 2026, and I’m pumped about the chipset switch. Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 across the board, no more Exynos, for the top model. That’s a huge relief for folks chasing peak performance.
The camera sticks at 200MP, but better sensors could mean sharper shots in tough light. Finally, 60W wired charging on the S26 Ultra and Qi2 wireless charging with magnets like MagSafe is another smart add.
Mid-year
Come July or August, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 looks set to fix a long-standing gripe. That 50MP ultrawide sensor is a massive leap from the weak 12MP. Photos from the inner screen should finally match the premium appeal.
The Galaxy Z Flip 8 might bring upgrades inspired by the Z Fold 7. This year, the company’s clamshell device has lagged behind its Fold counterpart in sales. Samsung is now planning design refinements and spec upgrades.
The Galaxy Watch 9 might arrive around then, with the Ultra 2 possibly landing after skipping 2025. The Korean tech giant may finally adopt the solid-state battery technology in the next-gen wearables, as per the reports.
Samsung’s cooking up a “Wide Fold” to compete with Apple’s foldable iPhone. It would be a short, wide design like the Pixel Fold, shaped like a passport. If it’s priced right, it could steal some thunder from Apple’s foldable.
2026 shapes up as Samsung’s risk-taking year, with consistent chips, better cameras, and fresh form factors. If you’re due for an upgrade, the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra or the so-called Wide Fold might be worth it.
