Kansas baseball looking to build off historic season
LAWRENCE (KSNT)- The Jayhawks are hungry for more.
After a 43-17 season (20-10 Big 12), the Jayhawks are determined to go even farther in 2026.
βIt didnβt feel great to end the season the way we did,β junior pitcher Dominic Voegele said. βIt left a sour taste that we want to get back.β
The 43 wins tied for second most in program history, but the Jayhawks went 0-2 at the NCAA Regionals.
With a large transfer class for the Hawks, the team knows theyβll have to gel together quickly.
βWeβve done it every year now for our college career,β Brady Ballinger said. βItβs gotten easier but its still a challenge.
Ballinger was named a preseason first-team All-American by D1 Baseball. Heβs the second Jayhawk ever to earn the honor.
βWe all bond being over JUCO players,β Dariel Osoria said. βWe talk about our experiences and get ready together to go out and face good competition.β
The Jayhawks will open its season Friday in Edinburg, Texas, for a three-game series against UTRGV.
