Rodwell’s record-setting games top Section V Best

York girls basketball’s Tessa Rodwell set two school records in back-to-back games.

On Thursday, Rodwell scored 36 points to set York’s single-game scoring record.

On Friday, she earned a double-double of 29 points and 13 rebounds to become York’s all-time leading scorer.

Her record-setting games earned her the top spot on this week’s Section V Best.

Also featured on this week’s list are CJ Johnson of Penfield, Car’Mella Parker of Lyons, Ryan Carmody of Aquinas and Jonah Bialek of Fillmore.

TVCC Cardinals take down Lamar State College 87-61

ATHENS, Texas (KETK) — The defending national champion Trinity Valley Community College Cardinals were back on Saturday afternoon, looking to get revenge against the Lamar State College Seahawks.

The Seahawks beat TVCC in Port Arthur two weeks prior, but the Cards had different plans in Athens, beating Lamar State College 87-61.

Trinity Valley will now get ready to head to Kilgore College this coming Wednesday to face off against the rival Rangers.

TVCC Lady Cardinals beat Angelina College 87-41, remain unbeaten in Region 14

ATHENS, Texas (KETK) — The Trinity Valley Lady Cardinals have been rolling so far this season, and were looking to remain undefeated in Region 14 play as they hosted the rival Angelina College Lady Roadrunners.

The Lady Cards scored early and often, taking care of A.C. 87-41, and moving to 5-0 in the conference.

TVCC will head to Brenham on Wednesday to take on Blinn College, before returning to Athens the following Saturday to host Paris Junior College.
