Roma bring in new buys Malen and Vaz for Europa League list, remove Dovbyk

Roma have confirmed their Europa League squad list for the knockout rounds, bringing in Donyell Malen, Bryan Zaragoza and Robinio Vaz, but cutting Artem Dovbyk and Angelino.

The Giallorossi are the only Italian side who managed to avoid the play-offs in Europe, as they finished eighth in the big Europa League table and therefore qualified directly for the Round of 16.

It means they have two fewer games on the fixture list and can take more time to get their new January signings to settle in.

Those include Malen, Robinio Vaz and Zaragoza, who are introduced into the squad for the knockout phase of this tournament.

However, coach Gian Piero Gasperini has chosen to remove two big names in order to make room for the new signings.

They are centre-forward Dovbyk and winger Angelino, who have both struggled for playing time in recent months due to recurring injuries.

Leon Bailey was also removed after his return to Aston Villa from the loan experience.

As NiccolΓ² Pisilli is a youth academy product, he can still be registered in the B List, freeing up a space in the senior squad.

Bologna confirm new Europa League squad list

Bologna have confirmed their new squad list for the Europa League knockout phase, bringing in January signings Joao Mario and Simon Sohm.

The Rossoblu have made it into the play-offs, where they will face SK Brann in the first leg away on February 19, then at the Stadio Dall’Ara on February 26.

Coach Vincenzo Italiano announced the changes to the group now that they have moved into the knockout phase, which allows for the January signings to be added.

Lorenzo De Silvestri and new arrival Elvind Helland are not included in the list and won’t be able to play in the Europa League fixtures.
