βCats suffer fifth-straight loss, 10th conference loss of season
TOPEKA (KSNT) β The K-State Wildcats (10-14, 1-10 Big 12) continue to struggle after falling to the Cincinnati Bearcats (13-12, 5-7 Big 12) in itβs fifth-straight game, 91-62.
The Bearcats took off quick, building up to a 21-point lead within the first 10 minutes of the game.
Cincinnati maintained that lead and added one throughout the remainder of the first half, leading 53-31 at the half.
The Wildcats were unable to claw back in the second, resulting in the 29-point loss. This ties for K-Stateβs sixth-largest margin of defeat at homeβlast coming against Kansas and Texas in 2000.
Despite the tough loss, PJ Haggerty continued to put up big numbers, dropping 24 points on 11 of 18 shooting.
Kansas State will look to bounce back against the 22-2 Houston Cougars from the Fertitta Center on Saturday, Feb. 14. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m.
