USA skier Mac Forehand robbed of Winter Olympics gold medal after debuting trick

Mac Forehand made history at the 2026 Winter Olympics after unveiling a first-of-its-kind trick during the Big Air event.

However, the USA freestyle skier didn’t receive a gold medal like many viewers expected him to based on his phenomenal individual effort.

Forehand debuted a ‘nose-butter triple cork 2160’ on Tuesday, which has never been completed by any athlete at the Winter Olympics. The American was visibly stunned and emotional after bringing home a silver medal in the event.

“For me, it helps push the sport,” Mac Forehand said after his epic trick debut. “This is the stuff we dream of. It’s the stuff I wanted to do since I was a young kid, go out there and push the sport as hard as I can.”

Norway’s Tormod Frostad brought home the gold medal for the European nation. Meanwhile, Norway continues to dominate the Winter Olympics with the most medals for any country.

While Forehand has every right to be frustrated with being denied a gold medal in his competition, American supporters can still say they witnessed history during his incredible run Tuesday.
