Mandarin Oriental Launches Lavish River Cruises Along Egypt’s Nile: Everything You Need to Know

The luxury hotel group from Hong Kong, Mandarin Oriental, has partnered with Egypt’s luxury river cruise industry for a river cruise offering the first luxury river cruise experience on the Nile, the longest river in the world. This cruise will offer a unique, elegant river cruise experience with the combination of river cruise glamour and the mystique of ancient Egypt. The four, seven, and three-day itineraries will cruise between the culturally affluent cities of Luxor and Aswan.

The Mandarin Nile Cruise Experience

The Mandarin Nile Cruise will offer an experience like no other on the heart and world of ancient Egypt. The cruise will offer 3 restaurants, a wellness center, and private suites for an over-the-top exclusive experience. The exact date for the launch is still in the designing phase, as the vessel is currently in its design stage. Anticipating a premier travel experience, the cruise from the city of temples Luxor to the archaeological city of Aswan offers premium access to some of the most delightful ancient Egypt sites.

Mandarin Oriental’s New Projects in Egypt

Alongside its river cruise, Mandarin Oriental will begin managing and renovating two historic hotels in Luxor and Aswan, expanding its footprint to three locations in Egypt. These two hotels are historic and will create a seamless travel experience for customers. Both hotels will be thoroughly remodeled but will keep their historic charm. As always, Mandarin Oriental will add the luxury and modern furnishings for which the brand is known.

Mandarin Oriental to Take Over the Old Cataract Hotel in Aswan

Mandarin Oriental is taking over the Old Cataract Hotel in Aswan, a hotel with colonial charm, and will be rebranding it as the Mandarin Oriental Old Cataract. This hotel opened in 1900 and has hosted a plethora of historic figures, including Winston Churchill and Princess Diana. It is also known for its association with Agatha Christie, who is believed to have written Death on the Nile while staying there. Renovations will be taking place on the Nile Wing, and the hotel will remain partially open until then, which is expected to be in 2027. There will be six dining options and a location of the famous Mandarin Oriental spa on the property.

The Changes Happening in Luxor

The Mandarin Oriental hotel group is planning for the Winter Palace in Luxor. It will close for renovations that will make it the Mandarin Oriental Winter Palace in 2027. Like the Old Cataract, the Winter Palace is also connected to Agatha Christie’s Death on the Nile. It was also featured in the 2004 episode of Poirot. Once renovations are done, the Mandarin Oriental Winter Palace will include six restaurants, a spa, and gardens that will provide a relaxing experience for all visitors of the historical city.

Future Mandarin Oriental Hotels in Cairo

The Mandarin Oriental company has also made plans for the Mandarin Oriental Shepheard in 2027. The Shepheard’s Hotel was an important part of Cairo history. It was built in the mid-1800s. The hotel was a part of the Shepheard’s Hotel until it was demolished in 1952. The new competitor to the Shepheard’s Hotel was built five years later. It was put in a state of renovation in 2014. The Mandarin Oriental Shepheard will show the tradition of this old hotel while also providing a modern luxurious experience in the middle of Cairo.

A Future of Egypt’s Luxurious Culture

Egypt is one of the world’s fastest-growing tourist destinations. Mandarin Oriental’s new luxury hotels in Aswan, Luxor, and Cairo will provide new luxury travel options along the Nile. The new Mandarin Oriental Nile Cruise and renovations of several historic hotels further showcase the brand’s dedication to providing travelers with luxurious and culturally enriching experiences. With these developments, travelers will experience world-class service while exploring Egypt’s timeless and diverse culture for the first time.

Conclusion: Luxury Travel Along the Nile Gets an Upgrade

The Mandarin Oriental is going to change travel down the Nile with the brand new Mandarin cruise ship and the takeover of the Old Cataract and Winter Palace Hotels in Luxor and Aswan. In addition to these three renovations, there is the new Mandarin Oriental in Shepheard, Cairo. As Mandarin Oriental is starting this new chapter of travel along the Nile, they will combine luxurious travel with the history of the Nile. They are creating new river cruise experiences for their guests to explore the history of Egypt. These will give guests new experiences to explore the entire land of Egypt with the Eastern and ideal service from Mandarin Oriental.
