Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold 2 in development with thinner design and improved hinge

Samsung is changing its plans for foldable smartphones after stopping the Galaxy Z TriFold sale just a few months after launch. The device did not stay in the market for long, but the company is not giving up on new ideas. Instead, Samsung is now reportedly improving its TriFold designs and bringing better versions in the future.

According to the information via yeux1122, Samsung has already started working on the next version, expected to be called the Galaxy Z TriFold 2. The company is trying to make this new model thinner and lighter than before.

The main improvement of this new smartphone is the hinge, which is the folding part of the phone. Samsung is designing a new hinge that is stronger and more durable. Most of the testing for this hinge is already done, which means the development is moving forward smoothly.

The new TriFold 2 is expected to be slimmer, but it may still be slightly thicker than the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is known for its thin design. Samsung seems to be focusing on making the phone strong and long-lasting, even if it adds a little extra thickness.

Along with this, Samsung is also working on a different type of device with a sliding screen. Instead of folding, this phone will expand by sliding out. It may use a simple manual sliding system instead of a motor, making it easier to use and more reliable. When fully opened, the display could be around 7 inches.

This sliding device might launch later, possibly in late 2027 or early 2028. Samsung is continuing to experiment and improve its future smartphones.
