Mets legends Dwight Gooden, Endy Chavez show up for NYC Little League season opener
There were two major league attractions on Saturday at a Little League game.
Former Mets Dwight Gooden and Endy Chavez showed up for the Peter Stuyvesant Little League season opener on the East Side.
There was also a parade before the game. People then gathered by the field where the two pros shared their best advice.
"You gotta listen to your coaches. You're here to have fun number one, but you are also here to learn, focus and develop respect for the opposing team, the umpires and everybody that's involved," said Gooden.
"When you're playing baseball, play with passion physically, listen to your coach and that way you're gonna have very good results in the game," said Chavez.
The league is celebrating its 70th year.
