Samsung brings joy to millions of Galaxy users – Are you one of them?

If you own a Galaxy phone, today feels like a little gift from Samsung. The company just rolled out new One UI 8.5 beta updates and opened the beta program to even more Galaxy devices. In addition to the beta updates, the company also released the April 2026 security update.

This means millions of users can now try new One UI 8.5 features early, enjoy smoother performance, and get the latest April 2026 security patch at the same time. It doesn’t matter if you have an expensive flagship or a cheaper Galaxy phone, there’s good news waiting in your software update section.

If you are using the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung brings the One UI 8.5 Beta 9 build for the S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. Moving to the S24 series, Samsung added bS24, S24+, and S24 Ultra.

Both beta updates bring the same improvements: easy file sharing with Apple devices (like AirDrop), three new camera filters (Classic Film, Pop Film, and Blanc), plus fixes for Bluetooth, notifications, gallery, always-on display, and lock screen problems. These betas started rolling out in India first and are quickly expanding to other countries like Germany, Poland, South Korea, the UK, and the US.

The Galaxy S25 FE also received its One UI 8.5 Beta 2 today. It comes with many of the same bug fixes and improvements, though the AirDrop feature is not included yet for this model.

The good news doesn’t end there. Samsung also started a brand new One UI 8.5 beta program for older flagship phones and even some mid-range models.

Samsung started the One UI 8.5 beta program for the Galaxy S23 series (S23, S23+, S23 Ultra, and S23 FE). It is available in phases, starting in India, South Korea, UK, and US. It also includes the April 2026 security patch.

The Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 Beta registration is now live in South Korea and the US. While the Galaxy A36 5G users living in India have already received the first One UI 8.5 Beta update.

Along with these betas, the April 2026 security patch is spreading wider today. The latest patch fixes 47 vulnerabilities, 33 from Google’s Android Security Bulletin, 10 from Samsung Mobile, and 4 from Samsung Semiconductor.

The April 2026 patch is also rolling out separately to more (non-beta) Galaxy S25, S24, and S23 models in different regions. These updates are rolling out in phases, so not everyone will see them at the same time. The best way to check is to go to Settings > Software update on your phone or open the Samsung Members app and look for the beta banner for registration.

If your Galaxy device is on this list, you might be one of the lucky ones getting these updates today. Are you getting the One UI 8.5 beta or the April security patch today? Drop a DM on @thesammyfans and let us know which device you have.

Most awaited fix for the Galaxy S25 Ultra coming with One UI 8.5

Samsung is doing great today. Samsung today released several new One UI 8.5 beta updates for Galaxy S25, S24, S23, and other Galaxy phones. The latest update brings many fixes. Talking about the fix, the Galaxy S25 users are waiting for one specific fix for their flagship device.

If you have a Galaxy S25 Ultra and love taking beautiful photos, I have important news. The 5x virtual aperture mode (for background blur, bokeh) is not working properly for some users. Instead of being clean and even blurred, the background sometimes looks messy. This problem is more visible while using 3x or 5x zoom.

Samsung moderators on the official community forums (via Mojo Trick) have now confirmed the bug. The issue has been noted and will be fixed in the upcoming One UI 8.5 software update, confirmed moderator. Why is this big news for Galaxy S25 users? When a key feature like virtual aperture doesn’t work well, it hurts the overall user experience.

The One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S25 series is currently in beta testing, and the stable version is expected to arrive very soon, possibly by the end of April 2026 in some regions, with wider rollout in early May.

Just to confirm, this update is not just about one small bug. The One UI 8.5 beta has already brought several camera improvements, such as better manual controls, fixes for blurry moving subjects, and restored features like Single Take and Dual Recording. Samsung has been active in addressing camera-related complaints during the beta phase.

If you are experiencing the glitch, report it in the Samsung Members app under Error report. More reports help Samsung fix issues faster.
In the meantime, you can try the regular Camera app’s Portrait mode for simpler shots, or just wait for the stable One UI 8.5.

Samsung continues to improve the S25 Ultra’s already strong camera system through software. Enjoy the latest Beta version for your Galaxy S25 series.
