Google Pics lets you edit any part of an image with just a click

Google has unveiled a new AI image editing app, Pics. The app is designed to help people edit pictures in a simple and easy way. It will be added to Google Workspace and uses Google’s Gemini AI and Nano Banana 2 image model.

The best feature of Google Pics is that users do not need to write long instructions to change a picture. Instead, they can click on the part they want to edit and leave a small comment. The app then changes only that part of the image. It works like adding comments in Google Docs.

With Pics, users can easily edit anything in an image, including text, pictures, size, and placement of objects. The app also lets users drag content and make quick changes, making image editing simple and easy for everyone.

Google showed how the app works during a demo. A Google employee was making a birthday party invitation for a child. The card had a picture of a cat, but she wanted to replace it with a dog. She clicked on the cat and wrote a short note asking the app to change it. She also changed the address on the card by clicking on the text directly.

After a few seconds, the app updated the invitation automatically. The result was good, but the dog still looked a little like a cat. This shows that AI image editing is improving, but it is not perfect yet.

Google Pics can help students, teachers, office workers, and small businesses create images quickly without using difficult editing software. People can make changes easily by simply clicking and typing short comments. With Pics, Google wants to make AI image editing faster, easier, and more useful for everyday users.

Google Pics is currently live for limited testers and will be rolling out later this summer to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in Workspace.
